Blockchain Development will remain to be the most in-demand skill of this decade.
If you could write Smart Contracts in 2017, you were an OG ;)
But today, the supply of developers is increasing. Thousands of new Developers are joining the space, many of them migrating from Web2 Jobs.
If you want to stay ahead of the herd & stand out, here are 10 Tips to follow:
1. Learn in a new way
Keep updated with upcoming Learning Platforms. If you want to be a better developer, keep learning every day.
Here are a few platforms I’ll recommend:
Alchemy Learn
Dapp University
Crypto Zombies
LearnWeb3 DAO
Learn a New Programming Language, New API Integrations, New DeFi Mechanisms.
Keep pushing your skills!
2. Build Soft Skills
Be a Developer, not a coder. All programmers can write smart contracts & build dApps. What makes you unique?
Invest in complementary skills:
Technical Writing
Content Creation
Developer Relations
This adds to your profile & gives people more reasons to choose you!
3. Networking
80% of Blockchain Devs get their Jobs because of connections. In programming terms:
more connections == more opportunities
Here are the primary profiles to focus on:
Other Developers
Founders
Recruiters
Product Managers
Content Creators
These people always have a bunch of opportunities available. Drop in a soft intro, offer some help, build a relation & Bam - You have yourselves a Network!
4. Go Full-Stack
Most important tip amongst all - increase your ROI. How?
Learn Frontend
Learn UI Design
Learn dApp integrations
Trust me, Full-Stack Developers are what companies need. Eliminate the competition, be a monopoly!
5. Cold Outreach
What mistakes Devs make:
Waiting to hear from companies.
Waiting for people to see their resumes.
Waiting to find a Job Opening.
What you should do:
Learn the art of Cold DMs, reaching out to people.
Drop in your resumes to recruiters.
Let companies know that you’re up for a role!
Let Devs know that you want to build.
Don’t wait for Opportunities to come to you, go to them. You’ll stay ahead of the 99% others waiting for the perfect moment! 💪

6. Share Content
Build a personal brand. How?
Share Content. Web3 companies look at your interests!
Write Tweets & Threads Consistently
Write short articles or essays
The key is to write about what you love:
Learning Solidity - write about it!
Doing NFT Marketing - write about it!
Built a dApp - write about it!
You’ll attract followers. People will DM you with Job Openings!
I myself got 18 Job Offers at 16 yrs old!
7. Build Cool Sh*t
You are a builder. Create innovative stuff!
Blockchain Development is not for Job-seekers, you’ll get far more of them if you know Data Science.
Blockchain Development is for people who believe in values of a decentralized web!
Work on side-projects.
Build Experimental dApps.
Write Research Papers.
Who knows? You might build your own Start-up out of it!
8. Try Freelance
This is something every dev is unaware of!
There are a ton of freelance gigs you can do as a Blockchain Developer:
Write NFT minting sites.
Audit Code.
This way, you earn as well as build a strong portfolio & experiences.
(The last 2 tips are my personal thought) 👇
9. Don’t give into the Fad
Web3 has a lot of noise!
Learn to see through it & don’t give into the pseudo-culture.
No need to say GM
No need to trade Crypto
No need to flip NFTs
Don’t waste time scrolling Twitter
Focus on what adds value, invest in yourself!
10. Embrace AI
This is you preparing for the future!
Don’t ignore the potential of AI. It will render the bottom 50% Devs obsolete.
Who’ll win? Two kinds:
Ultra-creative Developers.
Developers who can use AI as a tool.
Here’s what you can do to prepare yourself:
Learn ChatGPT Prompting
Search for Bugs
Shorten code
Spend a few minutes interacting with ChatGPT, you’ll have an edge over other Developers!
Every week, I share tips on:
Blockchain Development
Macro-Web3
Productivity
AI
