Hey Guys, Aaditya here! 🖖
Today’s Newsletter is about something very close to my heart. We’ll be talking about:
My Favourite Person
My Favourite Phenomenon
And the story begins about 6 months back…
I was someone doing well at school, but with the cliché drive of “I want to be different“ and “I want to change the world“.
Today, I find myself writing to 600 people reading this Newsletter, including you and building a personal brand on the Internet.
Do you want to know the question I’ve asked myself the most?
What are you doing in life?
Today’s Newsletter is about this, you don’t want to miss this…
Read Time - 4 minutes :)
So, coming back to the two points I discussed above:
My Favourite Person: Steve Jobs
My Favourite Phenomenon: Connecting the Dots
Did you ever imagine you’ll be where you are today, 1 year back?
Did you ever imagine the course your Life will take, 1 year back?
Absolutely not, you just can’t do that!
We’re always confused as to where we are headed or what will happen tomorrow, but we can never be certain of it.
Living in the Past is Depression.
Living in the Future is Anxiety.
You’ll never realise what role today’s action will play in your life tomorrow, You can’t connect the dots looking forward!
You never know what course your Life will take ahead. You might win a lottery or find a treasure or even die (hopefully not).
If you’re still wondering what this has to do with Steve Jobs — you haven’t heard the commencement speech he gave at Stanford (arguably the best piece of insight on the internet).
Here’s a 4 minute clip of the speech in case you have time. If not, keep reading…
In the speech, Steve Jobs talks about his story. He was born to a young grad student who put him up for adoption — finding him a home in Silicon Valley.
He talks about his college, which he dropped out of in 6 months, but continued to take the calligraphy class. This class was the reason the Macintosh Computer had multiple fonts.
All of these things could not possibly lead up to him becoming a Tech Visionary, but they did.
He didn’t know this, but when he looked back — he could connect the dots. All those scattered events in his life, finally made some sense.
If you are a student, creator or founder — you can’t predict the future.
All you can do is take action today — perhaps it might lead you someplace nice.
Connecting this phenomenon to my journey, here are two things to I’ve learnt:
Execution matters the most ✅
Nothing will happen unless you do something. If you aren’t trying a bunch of stuff and figuring things out — you are not growing. You never know what experience or learning might change your life tomorrow!
The next DM could be your new client.
The next call could be your new co-founder.
The next tweet could be your new viral content.
The next college class could build a trillion dollar company.
A different life is one rare instance away!
Increase your Luck ✅
People still think luck is faith. Sorry to break it to you, it is not. You can make your own luck. It is all about becoming more receptive to opportunities, that’s the only way good things will come to you!
Watch more videos.
Talk with more people.
Listen to more podcasts.
Send more cold messages.
It’s plain math — more you show up, higher your probability of luck.
TL;DR Clarity will come when you’ll connect the dots. You can’t connect the dots looking forward. You can’t look back unless you act today.
Alright, so that’s the end of the Newsletter. I’ve been sending one every Friday for the past few week. I want to get serious about this.
